Whatever Is Right
February 9, 2018
I'm not a mountain climber.
My son and husband, however, share a love for climbing. Heights pose no threat to them. My son encouraged me to climb--after telling him I couldn't, I asked how did he climb so confidently?
"Find a firm place for your foot, and don't [whatever you do] look down. You just go up from there," he answered.
That rang in my spirit as I knew he had answered by the Holy Spirit.
Find a firm place for your feet. Don't look down. Only go up from there.
A Firm Place to Stand
Webster's Dictionary offers a thorough explanation of "right." Many of which are hand-in-glove with the Greek meaning. One entry Webster gave is "agreeable to a standard." The Greek offered an extensive explanation including that a person who does right is "one who acts conformably to justice and right without any deficiency or failure."
The firm footing is the Father's standard of right--perfectly met by the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
But, Father didn't leave us out! The blood of His Son speaks up and covers over our deficiencies and failures. He uses His right to uphold us before Him.
Father does have an ax to grind regarding upholding His standard of right. Not with His people though.
Listen to Him. "God presides. . .How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked? Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked." Psalm 82:1-4.
Not defending the cause of the weak and fatherless, the rights of the poor and oppressed, together with not rescuing and delivering. . .
. . .causes the foundations of the earth to be shaken, Psalm 82:5.
And payday is coming for the Father's ancient enemy regarding these things, Psalm 82:6-8.
Foundations of the earth literally shake when right is not upheld.
The fact is these things happened all through history (not defending, rescuing or delivering) and are happening presently.
We're in a time of reaping harvest--and some fruit of national and religious history is a rise in lawlessness--turning away from His standard of right.
The reason many have turned from the standard of right is that they associated it--with personal and generational neuropaths devoted in that direction---to fathers (and mothers) and leaders with little to no mercy and justice.
And this is fact--not fiction.
Don't Look Down
"When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?" Psalm 11:3
There are things we can do!
1. Get to firm footing personally.
Whatever family, religious, civil fathers and mothers have done, if it did not line up here (Psalm 103):
- Compassionate and gracious
- Abounding in love
- Not harboring anger
- Not treating as sins deserve or repaying them accordingly
- GREAT (amazing huge enormous massive) love for us
- Complete and total removal of sin from us
- Compassion on the learning processes and tentative steps of us, His beloved children
Then, these fell short of Father's right standard. That does not make His right standard wrong.
It means that they, like us, have deficiencies and failings to take action to uphold what is right and just. This causes damage in the psyche of the children--who Father formed to relate to Him through the lens of good families.
It is time to choose which side to line up with.
2. Pray for healing of the root of these wounds. For ourselves, families, His family, our nations.
3. Don't look back to the pain. That would be looking down, and we don't want to fall off the mountain.
4. Look and climb up.
Now, that's in different faith action steps as the Holy Spirit leads, and some assignments He gives to repair the foundations and sub-foundations have taken years.
But today we can do this together.
Look Up, Climb Up
Whatever is right. . .think about it.
It is right for the sun to rise in the morning and set in the evening.
It is right for mountains to be tall and oceans deep.
It is right for fire to warm and ice to cool.
It is right for stones to be hard and bunnies soft.
It is right for birds to fly, fish to swim, and people to walk again.
It is right for sweets to satisfy and nourish (honey, ripe fruit).
It is right for beauty to go to the core and strength to do much more.
It is right for needs to be met.
It is right for pain to have a point (labor and delivery, growth of character).
It is right for babies to be born to a mother and father who love and want them.
It is right for children to be protected, provided for, and nurtured in their distinctive personalities, then launched into adulthood with blessing.
It is right for each person to learn and grow into maturity, through the seasons of life.
It is right for marriage between one man and one woman to be safe, strong, sweet, faithful, true and mighty.
It is right for grandchildren to be celebrated.
It is right for grandparents (or those of grandparent age) to have treasures of time, wisdom, faith, courage, and spiritual strength to give.
It is right for the younger generations to receive, respect and value the treasures they are giving.
It is right to defend life because life is precious.
Whatever is right. . .think about it, Philippians 4:8.
Father, thank You for the beautiful, strong standard of what is right. Thank You for Your Son who upheld it perfectly--and welcomes us to walk with Him in His successes, not our failures. Thank You that it is true that You do not count our sins against us, or hold anger against us, nor condemn us. THAT is the work of Your ancient enemy--the effect of which is his inroads through our wrong responses which create "crooked places" in our neuropaths. That is not Your work.
Father, please take Your Word Sword and separate our souls and spirits, joints and marrow from our view of You, ourselves and others that is not based on love and truth. We yield to You from our hearts and invite You to take out the wires and other malware implanted in our spirit, soul and body, birthright, and timeline that kept us connected to the flow of pain. We yield those painful experiences to You, and ask for Your healing to the core. Please cleanse and heal the core wounds and all through the layers, and connect us back to You.
Connect us to the truth of You as our Good Father and the truth of ourselves as good sons and daughters. Rebuild us. Renew us. Fill us in those places with Your Holy Spirit, seal and rearguard them.
Grant us grace to quickly bounce back as we grow in understanding of who You really are. Grant us grace to bounce back quickly as we understand who we really are in Your light. Grant us grace to quickly move in this direction for other people--to hear and see others as You want us to see them, so we can respond in healing, helpful ways.
Father, help us stand on firm footing. Help us remember to not look down. Help us focus and have the want-to to climb upward to the places You've called us to stand.
Father, grant us Your wisdom to know what are our individual parts to do as the foundations are shaken. Grant us courage to do it. Help us remember what You want us to remember and forget what You want us to forget. Help us remember to spend time thinking about what is right, and Your heart behind it, so we can grow strong like those oaks of righteousness.
On behalf of our families, cities, nations, we are asking for Your intervention as Father. Forgive us for we have many deficiencies and failures in upholding Your standard of right. We confess the Lord Jesus Christ's blood to cover these. And we ask for YOUR healing virtue to flow to the emotions, minds, souls, bodies, and spirits of our families, our cities, and our nations to set the record RIGHT.
In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, amen.
Crystal Wade writes to throw out a lifeline of hope for people to receive connectivity to trust the Father and be internally aligned to relate to Him, and thus receive His relationship and the blessings that naturally flow from Him. She loves to discover the redemptive plan of the Father in people, places, and things. Crystal and Stephen received a commission from the Father to connect the generations to Him and to each other so that they can: Start well. Live well. Recover well. Build well. Finish well. As part of that commission, they release materials to assist people of all ages in connecting to The Perfect Parent. The couple carries the Father's passion to position the next generation to be grounded in His truth and love so they can fly in the Spirit. To that end, their family launched Let’s Wade In, a media portal, which is both a community for children, tweens and teens and a tool for parents, grandparents and caregivers to anchor students in truth and love so they can fly in the Spirit. They have three wonderful sons.
